Vasavi College of Music & Dance, sponsored by Vasavi Academy of Education was established on June 18th 1996 on the birthday of late Sri Pendekanti Venkata Subbaiah, former Union Minister of State for Home affairs and Governor of Bihar & Karnataka and was also the Honorary patron in chief of Vasavi Academy of Education, to develop and popularize the Classical Music. The college is imparting training in Carnatic Vocal violin, Keyboard, Veena, Hindustani Vocal, Tabla, Harmonium & Keyboard besides the two Dance types of Kuchipudi & Bharathanatyam.

The Principal & the staff are well qualified and experienced in their respective fields. The college has been conducting several music programmes & Lecture demonstrations on different occasions by outside artists as well as its own staff members for the benefit of students.

Pt. Paluskar & Pt. Bhatkande’s Punyathidhi & the Tyagaraja Aradhanothsvam functions are being celebrated every year.

Our students have been sent for Certificate and Diploma exams conducted by Telugu University for 5 years and have secured Distinctions and I Classes.

Some of our students have appeared for competitions conducted by some reputed sabhas in and around Hyderabad and have won prizes. Our students have also participated in All-India Radio under "Yuvavani" Programmes.

During the College Annual Day function majority of the deserving students are being given an opportunity to perform on the stage to over come stage fear.

Sri. (LATE) Kbalavai Kesava Rao, Mjf, the Donor Member of the Academy was instrumental in establishing this Music & Dance College.
